The time is NOW to advocate anti-ageism and anti-ableism!

Ageism is the discrimination of older adults.

Ableism is the discrimination in favor of abled-bodied people.

What Will I Learn?

Aging and disability sensitivity training from Advocating Anti-Ageism consists of an interactive, hands-on experience on common challenges older adults face as it relates to common aging ailments. In addition, students are informed on how to recognize and accommodate needs for those challenges. Students also are taught how to recognize changes in behavior as it relates to confusion and dementia. Learn how to call out ageism and ableism. Training allows students to become a part of the solution, not the problem.

Why Is This Important?

Our society is getting better at calling out racism and sexism, but what about ageism and ableism? Do we value our older adults like we should? Do we write them off as useless and burden on us and society? We can do better. We cannot all be the same race or sex, but one thing is for sure, we all are aging!
